Item 10913
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Decoration.
The form and decoration make it easy to attribute this jar to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Squared Rim and Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Leaves around the Outside. Generous, dark cobalt creates an exuberant garland. Stands 10" tall.
Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind.
