Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jar Decorated with a Garland of Wildflowers.
The form and decoration make it easy to attribute this jar to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1860, this beauty features a Tall Rim and Shoulder and a Garland of Three Brushed Cobalt Wildflowers, Separated by a cobalt leaf. The cobalt is bright and shiny. Stands 10 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Two minor nibbles and a 1/2" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
