Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug with Bold Floral Decoration.
The decoration indicates that this is the work of Noah Furman of Cheesequake, New Jersey in the mid 19th century (M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, p. 191-193).
Dating about 1850, this beauty features a Delicate Floral with 5 Leaves and 2 Blossoms with Dotted Centers-- All in Strong Cobalt. Stands 13 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. An 1/4" chip on the inside and outside of the spout, and some nibbles on the left side of the handle and a 1/4" chip on its base. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
