Item 9950
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this super 4 Gallon Crock with Chicken Pecking Corn.
It was probably made by Samuel Brady and John J. Ryan who ran their pottery in Ellenville, New York from 1878-1897 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 66).
This beauty features a Larger Size allowing the Classic Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration to be Large as Well. The decoration is executed with rich and shiny cobalt. The chicken is nicely centered an accented with dots. There are 20 pieces of corn too! (apparently I do not have enough to do!). Measures 11" tall and 12" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Three chips on the rim (3/8"to 5/8"). That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
