Item 10143
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "T. F. Reppert, Greensboro, Pa."
Thomas Reppert made pottery solo in Greensboro from 1884-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 157-159).
This beauty features the Company Advertising Surrounding a Horsedrawn Plow and accented in the Top Corners by Tulips. As far as I know, Reppert is the only pottery that used the plow as a decoration. This example of the plow is the largest I recall seeing and it has great detail including part of the harness dangling from the front that is used to connect the plow to a horse or ox. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Scattered light staining. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some light hot spots in the making.
