Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "T. Harrington, Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand "3" Capacity Number, and Three Brushed Cobalt Tulips Splayed Across the Front. Measures 10 1/2" tall and 11 3/4" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. A 1 1/4" chip inside the rim (inside picture), a 3/8" flake on top of the left handle, a 1 1/2" chip on the underside at the edge, a 4 1/2" vertical surface craze line to the left of the "3", and some staining from use. No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration
