Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "T. Harrington, Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and the Capacity Number "3" Nestled in the Top of a Plant. Bright cobalt too! Stands 16 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" flake on the back center adn a 3/8" chip on the base edge. That's it! No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A salt deposit on the bottom in the back in the making.
