Item 10405
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Ovoid Jar with Two Tulips.
The flower with the circle between the stem and petals makes a probable attribution to Mauldine Perine or his former associate, William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland. Perine and sons worked in stoneware from approximately 1827 to after 1900 and Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).
This beauty features a Small Size, And a Brushed Cobalt Upright Tulip on Each Side. The tulips sport 8 leaves and a blossom with 8 petals. Additional cobalt accent on the terminals of the tiny handles. Stands only 7 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1/2" chip above one handle, a 1/4" flake on one handle, and some surface wear. No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
