Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Tiny 6 3/4" Stoneware Jar Decorated with 3 Upright Tulips.
The form and decoration make it easy to attribute this jar to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Squared Rim and Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Upright Tulips around the Outside. Each tulip has six leaves and a blossom with four petals. Stands 6 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Four small chips on the rim (1/8" to 1/4") 1/4" chip on the rim. No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
A very desirable small size jar with three tulips by Remmey in very good condition.
