Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Tiny Decorated Stoneware Jar whose form and decoration makes a solid attribution to Henry Remmey, Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Henry Remmey, Jr. ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1820's to the 1850's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Dating about 1840, this beauty features a Small Size, Rounded Rim, and Two Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips Around the Middle. Stands only 6 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. An tight 1 1/2" hairline from the rim above one tulip (closeup). Otherwise, as made.
