Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped for "Sweet Oil Sold by W. A. Wharton, 331 & 333 Broadway, Albany." 
 
Dating to the mid-19th century, this beauty features a Honey Brown Glaze and Six Lines of Unusual Stenciled Advertising.  Stands 16" tall. 
 
Fair to Good Condition.  Chips on the left side of the spout, a 5" vertical hairline and small left side spider on the left side, and a 7" vertical hairline with 5" horizontal line to the left on the right side. No base chips, stains, or restoration.
 
I was surprised to find that one other similar to this with a bit more elaboration in the advertising sold at auction in 2020 for over $1600!?
