Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Batter Jug made and stamped by "W. Roberts, Binghamton, N.Y."

This is the mark of William Roberts, son-in-law of Noah White of Whites Utica Pottery.  He founded a branch of the family business in Binghamton in 1848 and ran it until 1888 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, 71).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Cobalt Accents around the Pour Spout and Handle Holders. Retains its original handle. Measures 8 1/4" tall.

Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind.  What looks like a stain run on the front is a glaze run in the making.
