Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Batter Jug with Lid made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery."
This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy (now Watervliet) from 1843 to 1871 (private research)
Circa 1860, this beauty sports a Traditional Form with Tall Neck, Ringed Neck, Bulbous Base, Pottery Stamp, and Albany Slip Glaze. Retains its original lid. Stands 10" tall.
Very Good Condition. Honest glaze wear from use as shown. A 1/2" crescent-shaped chip on the left side of the spout. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration on either pitcher or lid.
