Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 5 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Whites, Utica."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Huge Cobalt Orchid with 3 Large Leaves and Center Blossom. Measures 12 1/2" tall and 13" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Some water glass staining inside, scatered staining outside in the back, four chips outside the rim (1/8" to 3/4"), and a 1" chip on the back bottom. No inner rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
