Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Whites Utica, N.Y."
This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
This beauty features a Larger Size, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Running Bird on a Branch Executed with a Slip Cup. The little guy has 4 wing feathers and 6 long tailfeathers. Stands 12 1/4" tall.
Excellent Condition. Some residual staining inside and some on the outside on the right bottom. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
