Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites Utica."
 
This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and one of White's signature decorations: The Large Orchid Executed with a Slip Cup. The orchid has two leaves and a blossom with two petals, all accented with elaborate stripes.  The decoration was executed in rich cobalt.  Gorgeous!  Stands 13 1/4" tall.  
Excellent Condition.  A minor 3/16" chip on the spout.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Roughness on the bottom of the left side from the making.
