Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this lovely Lidded Stein by Whites Pottery of Utica and is a wonderful example of the skill that Whites attained in molded stoneware.

The stein was made to commemmorate the 1903 Broadway play, "The Prince of Pilsen" about a brewer who was mistaken by a princess to be a prince.  It was a silent movie in 1926.

This beauty features a Top Band with "Prince of Pilsen" Impressed on It, a Textured Background with the Brewer and Princess Dancing on one Side and a Placard Reading "Here's to the Heart that Beats for Me" on the Other, and a Series of Fancy Borders at the Bottom.  A pewter lid completes the piece.  Stands 9" to the top of the lid.

Excellent Condition.  A slight indent in the bottom edge of the lid on the front.  That's it!  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
