    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Batter Jug.

     

    The decoration indicates that it was made by Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, New York from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).

     

    This beauty features a Brushed Bright Cobalt Orchid Decoraton with 5 Leaves, Two Blossoms, and 8 Buds.  Comes with the Original Bail Handle. Stands 10" tall.  

     

    Very Good Condition. A 3/8" chip on the spout and chipping on the underside of the bottom handle in the back.  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
