Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped "Whites Utica."
This is a mark of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, N.Y. from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Pine Tree Created by a Single Pour of a Slip Cup. Stands 11 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. Two chips on top (1/4", 1/2") and two 1/8" nibbles on the side of the spout, two 1/8" nibbles on the handle, and a 1/2" glaze flake on the left side shoulder. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
