Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Whites, Utica."
This is the work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles who ran the Whites of Utica family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Orchid with Seven Leaves and a Blossom with Thirteen Petals. Stands 11" tall.
Very Good Condition. A narrow 1/2" chip inside the rim and three chips outside the rim (1/8" to 1/2"). That't it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A kiln touch to the left of the decoration and dry cobalt in the making.
