    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites Utica, N.Y."

     

    This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Running Bird on a Branch Executed with a Slip Cup.  The little guy has 9 long tailfeathers.  Stands 12" tall.   

     

    Very Good Condition.  Two 1/8" chips inside the spout, and some scattered light staining from use.  No outer spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
