Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Fulper Bros., Flemington, N. J."
This is the mark of George Fulper and his brothers who ran the family pottery under this arrangement from 1881-1898 (M. Lelyn Branin, The Early Makers of Handcrafted Earthenware and Stoneware in Central and Southern New Jersey, pp. 132-137).
The jug was made for the merchant "C.R., W. Barre, PA."
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Diamond Shape with the Merchant Initials "C. R." in it, and the Address Below- all in Freehand Cobalt Script. Stands 15 1/4" tall.
Good Condition. A couple minor 1/8" nibbles on the spout and two larger chips on the left side back by the handle, and a 1/2" hole to the right of the diamond. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
