Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 3 Gallon Jar made by "Williams and Couch, New Geneva, PA."

This company was short-lived, about 3 years, with Williams suspected to be a member of the Williams family of potters from New Geneva. This pottery is briefly mentioned in Phil Shaltenbrand, Stoneware of Southwestern Pennsylvania, where he writes, "Pieces from this company are extremely rare" (p. 86).

This beauty features a Cobalt Stripe at the Top, Freehand Capacity Number Flanked by Tornadoes on the Shoulder, the Stenciled Company Name and Address Surrounding a Fancy Floral in the Middle, and a Stripe at the Bottom.  Very complete and crisp stenciling.  Stands 14" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two small chips inside the rim (1/8", 3/8") and some light staining.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
