    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 6 Gallon Churn made by "Williams & Reppert, Greensboro, PA."

     

    This is the work of William Williams and Thomas Reppert who worked together from 1880-1884 and again after 1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp 157-58).  

     

    This beauty features Top to Bottom Decoration.  From the top down are two straight stripes framing the rim, a wavy stripe and vining flowing across the shoulder, the company advertising surrounding two dangling tulips and framed by leaves, a freehand capacity number flanked by leaves, and a wavy and two broad stripes at the bottom completing the decoration.  Additional cobalt at the handle terminals.  Complete and crisp stenciling.  Stands 18" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some water glass staining inside and some traces outside, small chips around the seating ring inside for the lid, and a narrow 1/2" chip on the left handle.   No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
