Item 1281
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware Bowl in the Apricot with Honeycomb Pattern.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features a Honeycomb Pattern on the Rim and Four Medallions with Apricots Separated by Foliage around the Middle. Green and cream coloration. Measures 3 3/4" tall and 9 1/4" wide across the top.
A fine discussion of this bowl is found in Terry Taylor and Terry & Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, pp. 153-155.
Excellent Condition. A flat, narrow, and worn 1/2" chip inside the rim, three minor nibbles on the bottom of the overhanging rim (1/8" to 1/4"), and some discoloration inside from use. That's it! No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. What looks like a chip on the overhang in picture 4 is in the making and glazed over.
