Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this unusual Yellow Ware Butter Crock with Lid.
Made in the early 20th century, this form of butter crock is not commonly seen, especially with the lid. You can see a similar example in Lisa McAllister and John Michel, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book 1, p. 78.
This beauty features a Squared Rim, Canted Sides, and Two Brown and One White Slip Stripe in the Middle. The stripes are repeated on the lid. Measures 4 1/4" tall and 6 1/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/2" lifted piece of glaze inside at the bottom that is secure (closeup). Otherwise as made. The lid is mint with a slight indent on the edge in the making.
