    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous Yellow Ware Syrup Pitcher with Flow Sponging.

     

    This is the work of Frederick Weeks who ran the pottery in Akron, Ohio from the early 1870's and in partnership with his brother in the late 1870's (For more information, see F. Robert Treichler, A History of Northeast Ohio Stoneware, pp. 51-52).  This piece is featured in Lisa S. McAllister and John L. Michel, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book I, p. 37.

     

    This beauty features a Straight Rim with Embossed Dental Pattern, Embossed Sun Rays or Petal Pattern on the Shoulder, Tapered Sides, and Deep Flow Blue Sponging over Yellow.  Stands 6 1/4" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A single 1/8" nibble on the tip of the spout.  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
